Our finance company is on the premises and we have our own money unlike a lot of buy-here pay-here, dealerships in the area. These other dealerships don't have licenses--none of them that I know of.

And we report the customer's payments to credit bureaus in order to help them establish credit, re-establish credit, or help them in whatever their personal situation is.

Does that mean we take an anybody with any kind of credit?

If someone has provable income regardless of credit, and no open bankruptcy, we’ll help them. But if there is an open bankruptcy, we’ll still do it providing we get a letter from the judge or the attorney stating that the vehicle won't be pulled into the open bankruptcy.

For one thing, we’ve been in the business 30-plus years. We also have our own repair shop down the road. That means we’re able to take care of our customers, and we make sure the vehicles are prepped before customers drive them away.

Basically, what happens is that we do an official New York State safety and emissions inspection on the vehicle. If it needs brakes—even if they're more than halfway worn--we'll replace them. We change the oil at time of delivery to the customer. If it needs tires, or anything else--whatever the vehicle needs to keep it safe and on the road--we'll do at the time that we deliver the vehicle at the time of purchase.

It's important to us to make sure the vehicle is roadworthy and safe because the customer is spending a lot of money on a vehicle to begin with. After spending so much money on a vehicle, the last thing they need to do is put new tires on it or new brakes. We'll change the oil and do whatever else is needed so that we can make sure to give them a good head start at the time they purchase the vehicle.
