When somebody is ready to start looking for a vehicle, they should start with research which includes looking at reviews and testimonials.
Most consumers today start their research online, whether it be Googling a dealership or on Facebook.
At 112 Auto Sales, we get a lot of people from Facebook. They’ll look at our reviews and they'll talk to people on Facebook who have bought vehicles from us.
So our typical customer is someone who has started their research online. They’ll fill out a filve-liner on our website, which is their name, address, phone number and send it to our dealership. We'll contact them at that time and schedule an appointment for them to come in and go through the vehicle selection process.
Customers can also fill out a secure credit application on our website. It comes into the dealership, and then someone will call the consumer so we can get permission--even though they've signed--to pull their credit.
We'll still call them, introduce ourselves, pull the credit application, get an idea of where they are credit wise, get an idea of what kind of vehicle they're looking to drive and the money down that they have.
The more we can get done up front before they come in, the faster we can get them in the vehicle. And then they take it from there. If they want to make an appointment with three or four vehicles for them to look at, we'll do that.
We just had one transaction like that. A customer came in, wanted the 2012 Honda accord that we’d just put on the lot. We had it, they road tested it, we got them approved right away. We sent it down to the shop for inspection and any work that needed to be done, and then two hours later they drove away.
